Reflection

I haven't written in here now for about 2 weeks, but surprisingly I don't have a whole lot to say. I'll start with last week. Last week was a good week, we continued creating out Wikki's on past, present and future education. I found out that my old comprehensive school now has a lot more technology available than when I was there. Seems to be that they brought all the new technology in just after I left (why do they always do that?) My other lectures were also good and we had a lecture on the history of education which was interesting. So far this week has been good (but it is only my first day in uni, but I'. sure this week will be good too.) Today's lecture was fun, we created animated pictures and we created "catchphrases", that was fun as I always used to watch that program when I was a child.

Reflective thinking

Nothing much has happened so far this week. I've had lectures as usual, and had quite a bit of homework to complete. I've started working on a group presentation for Caroline Lewis on learning strategies which I'm enjoying. In reading week I will be starting on my written assignments.

Reflective thinking

It's hard to believe that this is the start of my 6th week here at Swansea Met. These first few weeks of uni have been great, I've made new friends and settled down into the routine of lectures. I've found all the lecturers to be very helpful and the lectures interesting and engaging, the readings i have been given in lectures have also been interesting and have made me think about the educational system. I've learned many new things about education in these first few weeks and I am looking forward to learning more. Being at uni I have found is a lot different from college, one of the biggest changes I have found is that now the study is so much more independent. In college we were told all the information we need and everything was layed out for us, here we have to find out for ourselves, do our own research and read around the subject. I am enjoying the course so far and am looking forward to the rest of it.

history of cars

cars

I don’t particularly have a interest in cars but I had to research them because It was a task we had to do in lecture. I came across this website by searching "history of cars" in to google. I picked the first site that came up and at first glance i could tell it had everything i needed to know. The site had a nice layout, a vintage car being the template. as i searched the site more i found it had lots of information and it was all clearly presented and easily accessable, the site also had quite a lot of pictures and this made it much more interesting to read.

Here is the website

and here is a bit of information from the site.

Car History In The 20th Century - Early Years

The car has come a long way from steam powered horsless carriages of the 1870's to the high tech fast cars we have today. In the beginning of the 20th century there was a great increase in commercial manufacturing of cars. This was due to advances in technology. The invention of the four-stroke engine made cars a lot more popular. People like Henry Ford, Karl Benz, Diamler, ect initiated the assembly line manufacture of cars. This lead on to hundreds of other small car manufacturers starting up and trying to get the people's attention.

Inventions In Car Production

The electric ignition and self starter was invented by Charles Kettering for the Cadillac motor company in 1911, In the 1920s, most automobiles began to be mass produced for market requirements. Ford’s 1927 Model-T, was regarded as the first affordable car.
